Last weekend was the Doe Demo Outing. This trip is usually marked by many firsts- some from this year were first time to shoot a rifle, first deer, first hog and even first time hunting. What a wonderful weekend it was! Ten youth hunters, three dads and five guides spent the weekend at the shooting range, in the deer blind and around the camp fire. It's hard to beat a weekend like that! Stephen dropped a 195 pound hog (his first) from 120 yards. Landry made a skilled shot on his first deer. Jordan added to his growing list of Doe Demo successes with another nice doe. Congrats to the successful hunters! All of the participants were able to learn/help in cleaning the animals. Everyone received shooting instruction and passed their shooting tests. Did I mention that a weekend like this is hard to beat!? Our camp fire conversations centered on our "citizenship". With so much focus on the current Presidential campaigns and election, it is so easy to get distracted on who you like or dislike...its so easy to feel down about the future of our country...BUT we have to remember that we, as Believers in Jesus Christ, are citizens of Heaven. Philippians 3:20 says, "But we are citizens of heaven, where the Lord Jesus Christ lives. And we are eagerly waiting for him to return as our Savior." No matter what happens in November our futures are secure and we are taken care of because Jesus is our King. Comments are closed.
